Artist Biography

Marcia Lynn Boyajian (1963, St. Mary’s, Georgia) grew up in the small southeast town and currently lives in Santa Clara, California, which she shares with her loving husband, Eric, two dogs, Ziggy, a feisty Yorkie, and Tango, a sweet, shy dog found at a rescue in San Francisco. There is also a pond full of goldfish and two red-ear sliders, Jojo and Koopa.

Over the course of her life, Boyajian has driven across North America eight times, and lived in seven states from Georgia to Hawaii and Illinois to California, traveled to seventeen countries, so her life has largely been defined by movement and the constant reshaping of ideas of culture and home.

Boyajian has held many positions throughout her life: paper mill hopper, accountant, office manager, shipping manager, and export compliance officer.  She taught math, science, and art for a juvenile delinquent program in Florida, and art workshops in Georgia, Florida, Hawaii, Washington, and California. Additionally, Boyajian is a Court Appointed Child Advocate (CASA) in Santa Clara County, California.

As an artist, Boyajian has exhibited her work at several state fairs in Hawaii, Washington, and California. Her work has been on display in many locations: a shopping mall in Honolulu, Hawaii, an art center in Bremerton, Florida, a café in San Jose, California, and an art and wine festival in Mountain View, California. Boyajian has participated in many student art exhibits at Olympic College in Washington, West Valley Community College, Mission Community College, University of Hawaii in Manoa, and San Jose State University. Recently, Boyajian was invited to exhibit in the Crocker-Kingsley exhibition at Blue Line Gallery in Roseville, California. Later this month, Boyajian is exhibiting at the Monterey Museum of Arts at the La Mirada. .

Boyajian holds an Associate of Art and Science degree from Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington, a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine with an emphasis in Ceramic Arts from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Honolulu, Hawaii, a Master’s in Business Administration from Webster University in Sarasota, Florida, and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Fine Art in Spatial Arts at San Jose State University, San Jose, California.
