Erin Ashford studied documentary photography at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco and received her bachelor’s of fine arts degree in 2003. She maintains a balance between fine art photography and commercial work through her professional studio located in Redwood City. Ashford is also a resident of Redwood City with her wife Lindsey where both women volunteer and support many local causes and organizations.

She has had multiple exhibitions in galleries across the country with works in the permanent collection at Georgia State University, Atlanta.

Ashford believes so much in the photography medium that she can be frequently seen wandering the City with a Camera on her shoulder. She is also committed to mentoring youth through her lens-based art form, and she volunteers as a photography instructor at Sequoia High School and D Tech High School.

Ashford became a Redwood City Cultural Commissioner in 2018 and looks forward to serving the City as the sole artist on the team.
