In February 2021, Forbes published Nadja Sayej's feature, "The Latest Public Art To Light Up South Florida." The article highlighted Illuminate Coral Gables, a citywide public art exhibition curated by Lance Fung of Fung Collaboratives. Running from February through mid-March 2021, the show placed light-based works by 16 artists at outdoor sites across downtown Coral Gables.
Sayej's report focused on how public art offered a safe cultural experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. Featured installations included video projections, sculpture, and Cai Guo-Qiang's Fireflies, along with new commissions by artists such as Kiki Smith. The exhibition welcomed tens of thousands of visitors on foot and by car throughout its run.
